This was to be our first-ever RVing experience. We were very excited, just having purchased our first house trailer, and were looking forward to our vacation at Baie des Sables with our little pound fluff-ball of a dog, “Bo”. I was well acquainted with the park’s rules about dogs: So, we arrive late in the afternoon, park our trailer, and begin the process of setting up camp, which takes about an hour. While my husband did most of this, I helped out while holding our dog on the leash. As we worked, a guy walked by our campsite with a good-sized black dog. Bo barked a couple of times, but I quieted him quickly.

Should You Buy a Campground? Cash, location and future development potential all play into investment decision By WI STAFF Western Investor July 27, Owner Don Zimmer is selling the six-acre campground in Pincher Creek, Alberta he has owned for 10 years, and is among those who caution dreamy-eyed investors that buying a running a campground is not as easy as some may think. Most interest was from aging baby boomers. The campground, like most in Western Canada, is open from May to October and Zimmer said one of reasons he is selling is to get his summer vacations back.
Location is also a key factor, particularly if the potential exit strategy includes selling for equity appreciation, he added. Operating a campground can offer low-cost ongoing expenses, Garcelon said, especially if it is equipped with underground services, but they can be expensive to get into because of the financing required.
At this time of the year sites were first come first served, so we got lucky and were able to stay in one of our favourite ones – site Campground was probably about 25% occupied during our stay. The sites at this campground are now % reservable from May long weekend to Labour Day weekend. Expect this place to be % full in July and August.
Contact Us What We Offer Crystal Springs offers easy access pull thru sites for overnight and big back-ins for longer stays. All of our sites are level and are a full hookup with water, sewer, electric and wi-fi. We cater to the over 50 crowd but all are welcome. Very nicely planned and layed out. You truly have a great park and can’t wait to return. The spots are long and wide enough for a Ram dually and a 42 foot fifth wheel to be un-hooked and parked in front of each other.
Very nice, spacious sites. Owners are working hard to plant shrubs and trees to provide visual screens between sites. One of the cleanest campgrounds we’ve stayed in. Owners are really nice. Lovely trees and pond. VERY clean and well cared for. We would definitely recommend this beautiful campground.

Apple Valley Orchard & RV Park, Kelowna: See 13 traveller reviews, Camping in Kelowna; See all Speciality Lodging in Kelowna but could be better with better tables and the hookup seem like they were pieced together, the lower sites are quite narrow More. Stayed in site Pros – – Site was level and pretty spacious – Lots of trees and shade – Great location to explore Kelowna, pick cherries, kayak lake, go wine or cider tasting and bike over the trestle at Myra Canyon Trestles. There was an overflow area in the day use area at one time. Best to check if this is still the case. Our site was a level, gravel back-in that had a green space next to Bear Creek. Plenty of space on either side for privacy.

Most backpackers set up camp at San Josef Bay, on a sandy beach fronted by sea stacks. More experienced hikers face an eight-hour slog through some of the muddiest, most tortuous terrain of any trail in British Columbia to reach Cape Scott, a distance of 27 kilometres from the parking lot. This is an extremely exposed area, so come prepared to wear waterproof clothing on top of waterproof clothing in an attempt to stay dry.
Raft Cove is located just south of San Josef Bay.

There are more than 60 private Okanagan RV parks and camping resorts to spend your summer camping vacation at. Personally we’ve always had good experiences at all of the RV parks and campgrounds we’ve stayed at. Some RV Campgrounds In The Okanagan Have Great Outdoor Pools Because camping and RV’ing is a big part of the summer tourism economy in the Okanagan, it’s reasonable to say that most park owners work hard at providing the best service and facilities for visitors.
Spring and fall are also excellent times for bird watching. And some facilities have amenities such as shower and laundry, private grounds, family and kids entertainment such as small arcades, volleyball, playgrounds, boccie ball, badminton, community fire pits, and more. In ground pools and hot tubs are sometimes a nice added plus. Should You Make Reservations? Check in and check out times vary with individual campgrounds and parks.
A good guideline is If you’re arriving at a site later than 9 p. However, unforeseen circumstances can delay any of us, and calling ahead in those circumstances will prevent problems should you arrive quite late. Also, newer facilities may have security gates that automatically lock after a certain time in the evening. If you arrive unexpectedly late you may not be able to get in.
